What keeps us busy
At the Kanso school, the 2023-24 school year is still underway, with 268 students enrolled. In February we delivered more than 800 textbooks to the parents' associations of Kanso and Bazana. We have requested to privatize the school to avoid the problems we have with the teachers assigned by the State.
There are 32 girls and boys enrolled in the nursery, ages three to five. The monitrice we hired is doing a good job.
This year, the school canteen serves more than 300 meals a day on school days to school students and nursery children. The kitchen building is being of great help to mother cooks.
In the Kanso market garden, women are making a big economic return from growing cabbages. The supervisor continues to fight for them to work in a more cooperative and productive way.
Thanks to the shea production mechanization project , around twenty women have obtained more than 100 kg net of high-quality shea butter, which they will be able to sell for around €500. A fortune for them.
